Running

Last week Laura’s school had its House Cross-Country festival. Because they’re homeschooling right now, if the girls wanted to participate they had to run by themselves and track it on a phone app. Laura ended up being one of the fastest girls in Year 8 and was invited to participate in a couple of meets (also done remotely) – so we went out on a training run today, since the meet distance is longer than she had to run for the house fest.

Cat Fish

Before the isolation started, Colin’s class was visited by author Cameron Stelzer, who read an excerpt from one of his Pie Rats books. Colin ordered a set of books as well as a shirt for the Cat Fish, the villains in the series. He was very pleased when they arrived and he has been devouring the books!

Beach time!

Ok. It was wet, raining, and windy but we needed some time outside. We biked 16km with a stop at the beach 1/2 way to stretch our legs. The kids loved chasing the sea foam and digging with their hands in the sand. It was so good for them!
