Laura and I went for pedicures. As always, she chose something a bit fancier than I did.
Cliff’s happy place
Went out for coffee with friends. One of them has a 11 week old little human. I got to hold a baby. Yay!

Omelettes for supper
Colin wanted to help with supper so we had omelettes last night. Sometimes simple meals look really good.

Archery
Colin decided on Archery as one of his activities this term. He thinks it might be his thing.
He and Laura both enjoyed the introductory lesson and he wants to go back again next week.

More Dr Brain
The kids loved it so much they were even pulling out reference books to help them solve the puzzles! They completed the whole game on the novice level. It was a good rainy day activity (broken up with a couple of long walks for errands).

Castle of Dr Brain
It’s a playing-vintage-computer-games kind of morning.

Colin Grandparents Day at school
Last month Colin had a Grandparents day at school. He was the only one to have grandparents attend via FaceTime.

Early morning walk about at Uluru
The highlight of our trip to Uluru was the guided hike around the base at sunrise. It is such a lovely site and so full of sacred sites for the Ananu people as well as other indigenous peoples of Australia.
We had a great guide that could tell us the Ananu stories and show us so many interesting sites. The colors on the rock and the significance of the area is breathtaking.
Thankfully the kids also enjoyed it and handled the 11.5km hike without too much issue.
Approaching Uluru before sunrise.
Walking to the best area to see the sunrise.

Sunrise – no filters.

5000 yr old cave paintings.

Kitchen helper
Colin wanted to make a mushroom omelette for breakfast:

Then helped peel apples for the sage-apple-Gouda pie (which is delicious!)

Ouch.

I’m sore, but fine. All patched up and disappointed to have ripped the sleeve of my favorite riding jersey. Very glad to have had my helmet on, which has a big ding in the front. Guess I need to go helmet shopping.
