Laura was very proud of building her lamp this month from her Eureka Crate. It’s now installed on her bedside table.

I took my new camera to the park to practice. Colin asked for a turn and seems to have a knack for it!

Laura and Colin practiced music together. Colin is doing his practice and Laura is making up the accompaniment.

In our ongoing quest to find the best isolation snacks that can be delivered, we chose to partake in a local chocolaterie’s rocky road festival.
We will be enjoying a wide variety of Rocky Road (31 flavours!) for the next few weeks. Each piece is the perfect size for dividing into four.
We started with “classic milk” and will report back at the end of the tasting adventure!

On the weekend Colin and I went to the beach and made sand sculptures. They are a little hard to see but he made a snake, mouse, rat and crown.

Maybe not a new show, but new for the kids.

Laura has completed the fifth lesson in her “baking basics” project – sticky pecan rolls! They are cinnamon rolls with a caramel-pecan glaze. Delicious!

Colin, our reluctant traveler, decided this week that we hadn’t been on a vacation in too long and wanted to go somewhere.
We packed bags, checked them in at the airport (front door), took our airplane (bicycles), and went on a trip.
We had one stopover at a lovely airport (beach), that had a sandy play area just outside. We had some fun skipping stones before our second “flight”.
We arrived “here” to discover they had space for each of us to have our own room, our bags had arrived on the luggage carousel, and the buffet/cafe had a great lunch options. The Nintendo switch in the lobby had all his favorite games, and they had a pile of LEGO to play with.
He finished the night with a screening of LEGO Masters on the TV in the conference/ movie theatre room. A successful first day of vacation!

Thankfully Australia is recovering and safely and slowly reducing the restrictions on social activities.
Colin was very happy to get to a favorite playground this week during one of our recess breaks. (Only allowed when there are fewer than 10 kids on the structures, and parents are encouraged to have sanitizer on site with them for use immediately after play)

The robots are from sets we have rebuilt. The instruments are free built by Colin. He is loving the LEGO Masters series we are watching and is energized to build all sorts of creations.
