We have named our new canoe the Great Blue Heron. We took her out yesterday for our first paddle. After we came in, Cliff tried taking her solo for a few minutes.

I wore my atomic scarf yesterday, which led to a great conversation with Colin who wanted to understand electron orbitals, etc. He figured that two hydrogens must combine to form 1 helium, so it was fun to try and explain that no, 2 hydrogens makes hydrogen.

Colin loves playing with the dry ice that comes with my ice cream of the month subscription. Last night’s went into a bowl with water and some dish soap.

Laura’s school has a winter formal dance. Her dress arrived yesterday so she tried it on. I wanted to take a photo but didn’t have my phone, so she said she would take some and send them. So here she is!

The dress itself could use some minor tweaks for fit, but she is very pleased with it. And now I know to remind her that her bathroom mirror needs cleaning.
The other morning I opened up the dog crate and then opened the door ti the backyard so that Pancake could go relieve herself. After standing there a few minutes I found this. Evidently it was too cold that morning.

Pancake thinks the pool cover is for playing on. Hopefully we can train that out of her!

The wind was cold and blustery, so we needed our ears covered!

Laura had her booster shot yesterday. Despite no side effects from her first two shots, she was feeling poorly today, but is on the mend.

I finished my Mount Kilimanjaro challenge before Christmas, but the medal was delayed in shipping. It arrived today, so I put it on after my run. I’m currently working on the Alps to Ocean challenge (300 km across the South Island of New Zealand) and enjoying the virtual scenery along the way.

Pancake was spayed on Monday. She is not impressed with the cone.
