Had to cut back the vegetable garden with my helpers today.

So today was a rainy day that lead to inside imagination including a new set of cutlery, crockery, and napkins being created, a piano accompanied happy birthday song and an all Trend marching band at a friends house. I’m so excited to see what tomorrow will bring!

It was just starting to sprinkle as I left the house this morning, but 4.6 miles later it was coming down pretty steadily and I was awfully wet. Thankfully the torrential downpours didn’t start until later in the afternoon! And it was much better to run in the rain than it would have been to run in the pre-rain humidity. In this photo I am dripping on the mat before going to stretch.

We arrived at the pool, got all arranged with our gear, and were literally standing on the edge of the pool about to get in when the safety break was called. I had a couple of very frustrated kids for the next ten minutes.

Took the kids to “Pump it Up”, an indoor play place full of inflatable bouncy castles and the like. We had the place completely to ourselves, and they were in heaven. Laura’s expression after her first trip down the big slide says it all.

For an end of year event, the school went swimming at the pool next door. It was a great day, sunny and not too hot (under 90F,33C before lunch). There was lots of excitement for the day and both kids enjoyed their time in the water. Colin got to walk over with his friend Avery.

That’s what Colin said, followed by, “It has my own name on it!” We decided it was time for some new towels for trips to the pool this summer. Luckily, they arrived in time for Splash Day tomorrow at school.

Laura is so excited to get her first trophy ever! She got it for participation in the dance production this spring! Here she is with her teacher Ms. Caroline.
