Our trip to the pool was interrupted by lightening before it even began. So we came home and got the sprinkler out instead.

Today was one of the hottest yet this year in Houston with special heat warnings out until Tuesday. We cooled off after the market with some watermelon slush made with fresh local watermelon.

We spent a day at the mall so Laura could try on clothes instead of picking them from the computer. She got a pretty new dress and Colin got great running shoes.

What to do with 20 old coffee cans? Set them up and bowl them over! Great game and an awesome noise. Clang!

Colin is very excited about his new borrowed big boy chair.

This month was a monkey.

Laura is off playing at a friends house this morning so Colin and I are making protein “truffles”. He is doing the top coating all by himself.

Colin wants to start eating his hard-boiled eggs out of an egg cup, but can’t figure out how to get in to the egg.

Reading Enid Blyton’s Famous Five has had a positive affect in Laura. After reading how Julian was able to climb on too of his caravan she tied a rope to the tree and climbed up.

Laura raced this morning in all strokes and an individual relay. There was ice cones provided as a treat afterward.
