Swing and boxes

It has been a busy time here unpacking. Ken and Margaret are visiting and being a huge help with unpacking and playing with kids and helping the house feel like ours.

We set the swing in the back yard to a size that both Colin and Laura could reach. Then Colin came up with the game of kicking boxes over. It was great fun.

Picnic Lunch behind the “stage” curtain

We were at the new house setting up services and having it thoroughly cleaned (it needed it).  As there is no furniture at all in the house, Colin and I had a picnic lunch on the floor.  Colin decided he wanted to have his behind the curtains that cover the front room’s bow window.  They are also perfect for putting on plays from the stage that’s created behind them when closed.

Legoland Discovery Center Dallas

Colin got a treat today and we all went to Legoland Discovery Center.  He had a gray time riding all the rides, playing in the play structure and with big foam lego blocks, and then building race cars and testing them on the ramps.  We even stopped at the gift shop on the way out and he chose the Scooby-Doo airplane that he has wanted for a long time.  It was a good day for Colin.

Riding test

One of the first things new campers have to do is a riding test to determine what level of lessons they should take.  Laura has never been on a horse before, but approached the test with confidence and looked like a natural!  She will have a great time learning to ride at camp, I think.
