We took an easy day on Friday, walked along the paths by the bay, played some frisbee and catch with new friends, and hung out at the playground close to the hotel. We also spent some time in the hotel pool. 

The kids had a great day at Legoland California. It was overcast and cool in the morning and the crowds didn’t get too big all day. 

We looked at LEGO statues, visited some of our favorite friends and did loads of rides from coasters to boats and driving.

We spent Wednesday at the zoo.

On Tuesday we headed off to San Diego and celebrated Colin’s 6th birthday with playing in the muck on the beach and then going out for sushi. 

Laura was excited to be chosen to help out with a juggling street performance. The video below is the second, and successful, attempt at the trick. In the first try the diablo spinner wasn’t caught after Laura flicked it over her head.

We spent our last day in San Francisco walking along the piers, at the Aquarium, watching the sealions, and finishing at Fishermans Wharf for ice cream. 

It was a day of different vehicles.  We took a cable car from Union Square up the hill.

Then we went to the cable car museum and checked out the actual cables that had pulled us up the hill!

We took a bus from there to the Ferry Terminal and went to Miette, a bakery that have wanted to visit for years.
Then Colin and I took a tram to the doctor so he could get some antibiotics for his strep throat (argh!).  Laura and Daddy took a separate tram later on.

We spent yesterday morning at the park across from our hotel. The fountain is a memorial to Dr Martin Luther King Jr.

Our vacation started in Dallas with brunch on Friday morning with Katie and baby Claire. It was so nice of them to visit with us. 

Our first stop in San Francisco, after a late arrival and a sleep, was Mel’s Drive in. We even got to play “Ghostbusters” on the jukebox!
