Niagara Falls

I had never been to Niagara Falls so decided to make a stop there on the way to New York.

It’s pretty awe inspiring. And the kids thought it was cool too.

Going at 9am was a fantastic plan as there was very few others around. Easy to get a good photo and even parked right by the visitors center.

Another bucket list item checked off.

Time with family

We left the Tyler Place on Saturday and headed to Ottawa to recover and get caught up on laundry and visit Grandmother and Grampy and friends.

After 2 nights there we drove to Hamilton and have a few day here relaxing and visiting cousins.

We arrived to find matching shirts and a wonderful dessert prepared by Mary. Chocolate Fudgeo Strawberry Ice Cream Pie!

Vacation week!

Our yearly visit to The Tyler Place Family Resort was last week and we enjoyed it for a 3rd year running.

I pulled in with just under 2000miles on the odometer since leaving Dallas (Not quite 1/2 way yet).

We had fun in the sun and wind and even the rain. It was relaxing and enjoyable for all. We don’t carry our phones often while at camp so there aren’t many pictures yet. The official roving photographer captured many fantastic shots again this year that we will share later.

Road trip day 6 and 7

Sorry for the slow update but last week was vacation!

Our 6th day on the road we travelled from Hamilton ON to Ottawa ON to visit with Grandmother and Grampy for the night. The kids enjoyed the short stop and the break to go to the park for a play with Grandmother.

The quote of the day was Colin at a rest stop. “Daddy, why is it so cold even though the sun is up?”  It was only 78F and a little bit of wind.

Day 7 was a 3 state/province day again!  ON-QC-VT. We had a deadline of getting to the Burlington Airport to meet up with Mommy before heading to The Tyler Place Family Resort for our week of vacation, which of course started with a round of mini golf.

Road trip day 5

A quiet day with cousins. The kids started at their own pace this morning after a late night yesterday.

The afternoon included a Creek walk for kids and a bunch of running around for Cliff.

Not to be outdone Hamilton had to make their bid at the best fritters too. The best are still in Fort Worth.

It was a great quiet day.

Road trip day 4

On the road again!  Another three state/province day. IN-MI-ON. Just over 500miles today after changing the route slightly to avoid rush hour traffic in central Detroit.

We started the day with the second best apple fritters in the US.

We arrived late in Hamilton and settled in for a good and well needed rest day tomorrow

Road trip Day 1

Today was a busy day of driving.

479 miles, 3 states (TX, OK, MO), 2 playgrounds. That’s our longest planned driving day going east.

It started with a blown fuse to the power outlet (cigarette lighter) that I promptly replaced.

On the road at 8:15 and at the hotel by 6:15. A great day for shows in the car and new sticker books.

Tomorrow, St Louis and the Gateway Arch!
