We decided to head North for the American Thanksgiving break. Colin and I flew to Newark Friday night then on to Halifax late this morning. We stopped for groceries en route and arrived at the house late afternoon.
We are settling in just fine, enjoying homemade cheddar-mushroom soup for dinner with maritime brown bread, then Colin beat me at a game of cribbage.
Cliff and Laura will join us after their weekend of Nutcracker rehearsals.
Hello! day 57 was good. we are finally back home! the drive today was normal again. the main nice thing is that we are back home! i have had fun doing the blogs for this trip as well, and i will probably be doing them again next year. for the last time this year, that’s all for now. Bye! -Colin 🙂
Hello! day 56 was a good day. we drove most of the day. we got up, had some fancy-ish breakfast in the hotel, packed up again, and got driving. we didn’t visit anyone, and there isn’t really much to talk about. when we got to the hotel, we ordered some sushi for supper. that is all that really happened that day. that’s all for now. Bye! -Colin
Hello! day 55 was good. we are almost home! once we got up, we went down and had breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant. then we packed up the car and got driving. we visited a friend first, and i played with their dog for a little while. the drive took about 7 1/2 hours. the drive was uneventful. when we got to the hotel, we got our stuff unpacked and watched Big Hero 6, which is a very good movie. that’s all for now. Bye! -Colin
Hello! day 54 was very good. we got up and drove for about 6 hours to another hotel. the drive was good, but uneventful. after we arrived, we went to a hot air balloon and laser show. we walked around some stalls for a while and found one that sold glowy stuff for after it got dark. then we found a stand that had a bunch of 3D printed stuff. there were things from dragons to dice rollers. we ended up getting two dice rollers and 10 little mini things. they are a surprise for some people who might be reading this, so I’m not going to spoil it! 🙂 after a while, the balloons started to inflate, but they had to be called off due to a thunderstorm that was happening soon. a little while later, they started to blow smke into the area to make the lasers appear better, but there was some wind that kept blowing it away, so the lasers weren’t as cool as they were meant to be. the end of the day was a dissappointment, but the rest of the day was good. Bye! -Colin
Hello! day 53 was long. we got up at 7:30 in the morning to get on a boat. we had breakfast at the hotel and drove to the boat. Daddy was interested in the shape of the boat because it was made differently than most boats he had been on. we went up to the passenger deck and had some reading time for about two hours. we then went to get lunch, and we played cribbage while we ate. we eventually landed in Maine. we then droove to a hotel in Connecticut. I swam in the pool there for a little bit, and then we went to bed. Bye! -Colin
hello! day 52 was good. when we got up, we got straight into getting ready to leave. we cleaned up the house, packed everything away, and managed to get ready by around 5:00 PM. after that, we got in the car and drove to a hotel. on the way, we stopped at Jordan’s house for supper. the drive was longish, and we didn’t see much memorable, mostly because it got dark soon after. we stpped at a gas station for some late supper, and we made it to the hotel around 11:50! we goot to our room, and went to bed. Bye!
Hello. day 51 was very busy. we were getting stuff packed up to leave the next day. there wasn’t much interesting though. daddy and i went for a run. Me and Jordan played Animal Crossing online together. that’s really it. it just wasn’t very eventful. Bye! -Colin
Hello! Day 50 was amazing! once we got up we were getting ready to go out to a place called Splashifax. Splashifax is a big waterpark, that is on a lake and has a bunch of giant inflatables. we met Jordan there, and took a trolley to the area with the inflatables. it is enormous, and there are a bunch of parts of it. there is a main area with a bunch of little things to get around the park, and attached to it are two Wipeout-style series of floating red orbs to try and get across. it’s really hard, and none of us managed that time. there are also a few slides, one of them has a flicked-up end to make you go flying off, and the others were just normal slides. there was also a giant bounce cushion. Daddy launched me off of it, and i went flying while screaming very loud. then seperate from the main section, there is a pair of very steep slides that are very fast, a couple of UFO looking things that were hard to get onto, a beaver that was just another platform, and an absolutely giant unicorn. the unicorn is about 30 feet tall, its tail is a slide, and you can jump off the sides. the jump is almost 20 feet. that is really fun. once we came back, we went to a British-style cafe for lunch, and then we visited a bookshop. the bookshop served hot drinks, and had some cats. we stayed there for a while and then dropped Jordan of at their house. then we came back home, and went to bed. Bye! -Colin
