Days 16-22 of our road trip

hello! Sorry about not posting in a while. we have had some interesting things happen here! I’ve finished learning all of my letter keys for typing! We’ve started to build some chairs for the backyard. I went to see the How to Train your dragon live action remake, and it was very good. I got a Garmin to help me track my runs. I’ve gone on more runs. We went out to see the seal rocks on the two-person kayak. If you remember seal rock from last year, there’s a small island where a bunch of seals hang out way out from the original seal rock. they are very cute. we played some golf. It’s been pretty busy. we’ve also decided that every week will have a day where there is nothing booked, and we can just take the day off. I got a D&D Lego set, and it is coming along well! I am really enjoying building it. That’s all I can remember for now. Bye! -Colin 🙂

What’s been happening in Houston?

Cliff and Colin have been road-tripping and enjoying the house in Nova Scotia. I’ve been working and Laura has been plenty busy with dance and exercise and getting ready for her travel. But we still found some time to have a bit of fun!

The TADA summer intensive finished with a performance and then the dancers stood around awkwardly.
Laura added protein to our dinner one night – and some extra minerals!
We have had a whole lot of rain and some grape- or quarter-sized hail! At least it’s been cooler than usual for the time of years
We went for afternoon tea with some dance friends and their mums. How cute are we?
I spent a long day in the field in New Mexico, where it was disgustingly hot. At least we travelled in style.
I rescued a recently fledged swallow that was lost and stuck in the parking garage at work.
We rode our bikes to the farmer’s market and bought lots of treats, including this delicious mango-pineapple-passion fruit juice.

We also went to see a local production of Newsies, but I didn’t take any photos of us.

Today Laura headed to Toronto for a weekend with family followed by a three-week intensive at Ballet Jorgen.

And that’s the latest from Texas! I have two more weeks here alone and then I’m off to NS.

Days 11-15 of our road trip

Hello! I’m sorry I haven’t posted in a while. Now that we are at our house, I’ll be doing bigger blogs with more than one day occasionally. Anyway! On day 11, we got some groceries and went for a run in the morning. On day 12, we went out on the bay with our kayaks. On day 13, we went and played a game of golf. On day 14 we went for a run again, and I started to learn to type properly on typing.com, which has become a daily chore. On day 15, we cleaned the house more. It’s hard to write about stuff when it happened a while ago. We have also been watching the Harry Potter movies while we have supper throughout the week. Again, sorry for not posting in a while! Bye! -Colin

day 9 of our road trip

Hello! Day 9 was our last driving day! We are now in Nova Scotia. Anyway, the drive was good. We drove until we were out of fuel, refilled and got lunch, and then left again. we drove all the way to Nova Scotia and stopped at a friend’s house for supper. We got the groceries, and we drove to the house. we unpacked enough, and we went to bed. It was a very important but uneventful day. Bye! -Colin

Day 8 of our road trip

Hello! Day 8 of our road trip was another driving day. We got up at my grandparents’ house and got on the road. It wasn’t very eventful, but it was very weird because we were mostly driving through Quebec. If you didn’t know, Quebec’s official language is French, meaning that almost all of the signs and restaurants would be in French. That didn’t really affect it, but it was cool. We stopped at a rest stop for lunch, and continued to New Brunswick, where the official languages are both English and French, so I could understand more of the signs. We got sushi for supper and went to sleep. Not a very eventful day. Bye! -Colin

day 7 of our road trip

Hello! The seventh day of our road trip was busy and good. Once I got up, I had breakfast, got dressed and then had chill time for a while. Afterwards, I had lunch and then my cousins Eva and Isla came over for the afternoon.  We played in the backyard for a while and then went to the park for a couple hours. We came back and then played with Construx for a while. We had pizza for supper and played a board game until Eva and Isla left. I then got ready for bed and went to bed. It was a good day, but a bit long. Bye!    -Colin

day 6 of our road trip

Hello again! The sixth day of our road trip was another driving day. We packed up our stuff from my cousins’ house and left. It wasn’t as long of a drive as some other days. We didn’t go through any other provinces, we just stayed in Ontario for the day.  We drove a while, stopped at an A&W for lunch, and continued to my grandparents’ house. We unpacked our stuff, and Dad and I went for a walk for a while. Then we came back, and Dad went to get fish and chips for supper. We had supper, and we went to bed. The day was good, even if it was a bit uneventful. Bye!                -Colin

day 5 of our road trip

Hello! The fifth road trip day was good. I got up really late, and we went out to play a round of golf. We played well, and I had better drives than Dad for the first half. The course was very hilly, so it was an interesting round. That lasted until about 6:15, and we went back to my cousins’ house for supper. We packed some stuff up and got ready for bed. The golf game was most of the day, and nothing else really happened. By the way, sorry for being really behind on the blogs. I just forgot to do them for a while. Bye!           -Colin

Day 4 of our road trip

Hello. Day 4 was not very eventful. I got up and wasn’t feeling good. We got our stuff packed up and got in the car, and then I read a book about space pirates for a bit. I then slept through most of the rest of the trip. I woke up to have some food, but otherwise didn’t do much. We did make it to Canada though! We drove to my cousins’ house. We’re staying here for a couple of nights. We had a good supper, played some video games, and went to bed. It wasn’t an eventful day. thank you for reading! -Colin
