Natural History

I started my morning with a walk over to a bakery to pick up Colin’s birthday cake for tomorrow. When I got home, neither Cliff nor Colin was out of bed yet. I encouraged them to get up and we eventually made our way back to Tatte for another delicious breakfast.

More tasty pastries

It was a cold but sunny day; perfect for checking out View Boston: a 360-degree view of the city from the 52nd floor of the Prudential Center.

We could see our apartment, Laura’s dorm, and plenty of other highlights.

We took the bus over to Cambridge to check out the Harvard Museum of Natural History, which had been recommended to us.

I didn’t take any photos but the campus is also very pretty
There was a huge room full of minerals! Perfect for me!
There are hundreds of these stunning glass model flowers that were made more than a century ago as study aids.
You’d never know they were glass!

They also had exhibits on evolution, sea monsters, arthropods, and mammals/birds of the world. Here is Colin with a fossil plesiosaur in the dinosaur exhibit.

Imagine finding this fossil!

We headed back to Boston for a pub dinner and some Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. Colin hung out playing video games while Cliff and I went to Laura’s performance. She did a great job!

I snuck a photo during their bows

Only one more day here!
