Colin is training for a kids tryathalon. We have been doing open water swimming to practice. He’s getting much stronger every week.
My cocktail tonight was called a “Paper Crane”. It was tasty, and I was impressed with the teeny tiny garnish.
Rhubarb and custard pie for the birthday boy. I still haven’t got the recipe right – the custard isn’t thickening up – but at least it tastes good.
Laura had new braces installed and an elastic from top to bottom.

We spent a fantastic day at Zealandia in Wellington, where they are working to restore nature to pre-human arrival conditions.
Wetas are a group of insects (giant flightless crickets) endemic to NZ that have been around millions of years but are now at risk from habitat destruction and introduced predators. We were lucky enough to see a few weta while we were there.
