Grandpa finally made it after a lengthy delay. The sun is shining and we are enjoying being outside playing and visiting friends. 

We were having a campfire last night and both kids decided to warm their back halfs at the same time. 

Bert and Ernie are a timeless classic. 

Colin came with me to run errands on the weekend.  He kept suggesting I take pictures of him.

Sarah was testing a stacking M and balancing game that we played at my birthday party Saturday evening. Colin’s expression is wonderful!

My team at work had an off-site day at the zoo on Tuesday.  Our conference room was built right into the gorilla enclosure – it was a bit tricky to concentrate on our discussion when the gorillas would come to watch us through the windows.   

 
We also had some experts bring in some small animals for us to meet, including Catori the Eastern screech owl: 

 Julian the Madagascar giant hog-nosed snake 
 And Ninerec the Tenrec, an example of convergent evolution.  Tenrecs live on Madagascar and fill the same niche that hedgehogs do in other parts of the world. 
 We finished up our day with a scavenger hunt outside in the zoo on a beautiful afternoon.  Sure beat being in the office! 

We took the cousins to NASA today.  Colin and Will held hands for nearly an hour on the way there.  

The kids enjoyed learning about friction, amongst other activities:   

Laura’s class put on the play “Peter Pan” on Friday morning.  Laura played two roles:  the children’s mother, and a mermaid.  It was a lengthy and complicated production – the kids had put a lot of effort into it!
