Nothing like a good activity sheet to keep one entertained while the adults finish eating. 

Laura had her moving up ceremony today to celebrate moving from Lower Elementary (Grades 1-3) to Upper Elementary (Grades 4-6).  She had to give a short speech in front of the school, which she did very well.

Colin and Laura tried out Colin’s new bedroom furniture.  

It has been a little wet over the last week. We finally got out for an evening play at the park.

Colin loves building towers. This one looks like it was built by Dr Seuss. It collapsed shortly after the picture.  

I’m not sure what the game was but 2 Trend kids and 2 Johnsons we’re spinning circles in the parking lot. Everyone was having fun so I didn’t ask any questions.  

We had a fun day at the zoo with many of the Johnsons, who were visiting.  It was a treat to see them all.  At the end, Cliff went to get the car and the kids went on the carousel.  Colin thought of Mary and chose to ride the panda:  Laura showed off her Newfoundland pride:  The heavens open and the torrential downpour started just as the ride was ending, so we hung out under the roof for a while and managed to stay mostly dry.

Finally we had a dry day! Thankfully it was also the day we were invited to the park for a friends birthday party. Colin had a great time playing “tennis” over/through/under the volleyball net.  

It has been unsually rainy here these past few weeks so Colin really wanted a new umbrella. He is very excited to use it whenever he can.
